Most uncomplicated root canals can be completed in a single sitting with comparable success rates to multi-sitting treatment.

Multi-sitting is occasionally chosen for complex anatomy or active infection — the additional visit allows medication to settle inflammation.

What matters is the dentist's diagnosis, the use of rotary endodontics and magnification, and the placement of a crown afterwards.
