If your last cleaning felt like sandpaper, you're not alone. Older techniques relied heavily on hand-scraping, which can feel rough — especially around the gum line.

Modern ultrasonic scaling uses fine, high-frequency vibrations with constant water cooling. Done well, it removes tartar without scraping, and most patients describe it as a tickling sensation at most.

If you're particularly sensitive, GBT Airflow cleaning replaces most of the scaling with warm water and a fine powder — closer to a spa experience than a clinical procedure.

What helps most: telling us upfront if you're nervous, so we can pace the appointment for you.
